Hi and welcome to Fractal Access. Here you’ll find info on how to use the Fractal Audio guitar amp modelers accessibly. So, if you’re blind and have an FM3, FM9 or AxeFx3 or you have questions about their accessibility, you’re in the right place.
However, the first thing you need to know is that you’ll need a Mac to follow this method. Sorry Windows users, if I find out how to do this on Windows, you’ll be the first to know.
The second thing is, that while this site will be helpful in using the FM3 and AxeFx3, it will focus on the FM9 as that’s the modeler I rock, and actually, most of the time, you’ll be using the editor software which is pretty much identical for all 3 modellers. So, if you’re OK with that, let’s go.
What is a Fractal Audio guitar amp modeller
In essence, it’s a metal box that replaces your amp and your pedal board. Plug your guitar into one end and plug the other into front of house or your audio interface and you’ve got yourself over 300 amps and 100 pedals which you can configure how you like
Fractal Audio’s flagship model is the AxeFx3, primarily designed for studio use, although they can be used live as well.
They also have 2 les powerful modellers but the next one down the FM9 is a floor unit with 9 foot switches and the baby of the bunch is the FM3, which is also a floor unit with 3 foot switches.

Sounds great but can I use them if I’m blind?
The good news is that not only can you use them, but, as of the latest version, I’ve not found anything that can’t be done with speech; although some things are a little tricky.
